The Adizero Pro Evo SL ATR is a serious racing shoe rep. The outsole rubber traction pattern is correct for trail road conditions and the carbon plate gives real propulsion. Excellent build.
Ran a trail half marathon in these. The ATR outsole gripped the terrain well and the lightweight upper kept my feet cool. Midsole stack is correctly proportioned. Impressed.
For a rep of a technical racing shoe this is very good. The weight is close to the retail spec and the Lightstrike Pro-style foam feels energetic underfoot. Would recommend for racing.
Carbon plate running shoe done well. The shoe is incredibly light and the ride is fast-feeling. The ATR rubber pods are clearly visible on the outsole and function as described. Great shoe.
Q: Is this suitable for trail running or only road running?
A: The ATR designation means All Terrain Running — the outsole has lugged rubber pods designed for loose and mixed surfaces. It handles gravel, light trail, and road surfaces well.
Q: How do these compare to the standard Adizero Pro Evo SL without the ATR outsole?
A: The ATR version adds multidirectional grip lugs to the outsole versus the flat road outsole on the standard SL. The upper, carbon plate, and midsole construction are otherwise identical.
Q: What size should I order for racing — snug or a little room?
A: Racing shoes are typically worn with minimal extra room. Order your true size for a snug, performance fit. If you plan to use them for long distances, a half size up will prevent toe discomfort.
