The M8 softshell is a serious outdoor piece. Wind resistance is excellent -- took it out in gusty alpine conditions and it blocked the wind completely. Seams are reinforced and tidy.
Stand collar zips to the chin and the internal fleece lining is warm enough for cool mornings without extra layering. Very accurate to the retail M8 spec.
Solid softshell jacket. The stretch panels under the arms add great mobility for scrambling. Four-way stretch on the main body is noticeable. Build quality exceeded my expectation.
Great jacket for shoulder-season hiking. Wind-resistant and warm enough for 5-10 degree weather with a base layer. A small pocket detail on the upper sleeve is a nice touch.
